Excessive Block Smoke – Intake hose/Santa Fe(SM)

Check the current data using G – Scan
Model: Santa Fe (SM) Year model: 2001-04 Mileage: 99278km
Displacement:2000cc Fuel: Gasoline T/A Auto
Subject: Excessive Block Smoke – Intake Hose
1) Condition:
  1. Excessive block smoke comes from muffler.
2) Cause:
  1. The torn intake hose.
3) Diagnosis:
  1. Scan tool check = No trouble code
  2. Check the current data using G – Scan.
    = The sensor output signal is incorrect.
  3. Check the airflow sensor assembly – Trouble not found.
  4. Check the EGR control system – Normal operation.
    ( EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation).
  5. Check the intake hoses.
    = The intake hose between the turbo charger and the intercooler has been torn.
    =
    After replacing the intake hose the problem has disappeared.
4) Repair Guide:
  1. Replace the intake hose.
